The Heart Chakra also known as The Thymus Gland and is located at the centre of the chest in line with the breastbone. Its colour vibrates a deep emerald green. It sits slightly to the right of the heart organ. On a physical level the Heart Chakra governs the Thymus Gland, (which plays a vital role in your endocrine and lymphatic system), the lungs, and the breasts. the Circulatory System and the Lungs. As its name implies, is all about love. Psychologically it governs higher emotions such as Love, Forgiveness, Compassion, Relationships with others and sense of touch. When we are depleted emotionally from heartache and loss this may disrupt the Chakra’s flow and you may initially experience a heavy feeling in your chest and feel anxious and drained.
When imbalanced the Heart Chakra affects the Circulatory System and the function of the Heart. A depletion of the immune system and lung problems such as Tuberculosis and Asthma can occur. Psychological imbalances are based upon fear in general and is focused around Betrayal, Dependency and Trust issues. It can give way to grief, anger, jealousy and hatred toward yourself and others, especially in the form of holding a grudge against something or someone. Holding onto hurt harbors negative feelings and cuts you off from the opportunity to fully receive and give love.
