The Base Chakra is also known as the Perineum and is located at the base of the spine. Its colour emanates a bright blood red colour. On a physical level the Base Chakra is associated with the spine, muscular and skeletal systems, adrenal glands, and blood production. Psychologically it governs Physical Strength, Security and Self-Preservation.

A Healthy Base Chakra also stimulates our Energy field and promotes Vitality. It dominates our security on this planet and drives our survival instincts. This Chakra appears to be more resilient than the other counterparts and can store suppressed emotions such as Suppressed Anger, Frustration, and Resentments for much longer before displaying physical ailments.
